Altchiler LLC is a law firm focused on solving its clients problems, no matter where, when or how those problems arise. Originally a criminal defense boutique created by Robert Y. Altchiler, the practice has expanded in the past decade to encompass additional practice areas, including business law and consulting, corporate investigations, tax, entertainment intellectual property and other areas. We work closely with carefully selected, accomplished attorneys, consultants and experts in these areas, to ensure that our client’s needs are handled by able specialists, no matter the field.

Our model is based on the premise that we can utilize accomplished, talented, reliable
professionals to help our clients achieve their goals by consulting with specialists with whom we have developed close working relationships over the last two decades or so. We only work with people who are able, reliable, and who share our client first approach to the practice of law. By this model, these professionals are accountable to not only the client, but to us as well.

HELAINE S. BRICK-CABOT

HELAINE S. BRICK-CABOT, Esq. established her own law firm in 2005, as an innovative, effective problem solver with a solid foundation in business.
 

She has served as the General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer for a diverse group of companies, including a cardiac surgical medical practice at three hospitals in New York and New Jersey, a summer camp for children in upstate New York, an indoor family entertainment center in Paramus, New Jersey, and a New York City real estate firm.
 

Prior to that time she was a partner in a boutique Wall Street firm.  She also served as Assistant Counsel to the Speaker of the New York State Assembly and Counsel to the New York State Standing Committee on the Judiciary. Helaine earned her B.A. degree from Hunter College in New York City and her J.D. from Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois.  Outside of work, she is quite active as the President of two New York City cooperatives, is married and has two daughters.

JAMES E. NEUMAN, Esq. a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and former law clerk to a New York State appellate judge, has been in private practice since 1992.  He is currently a partner at Renzulli LLC.

Mr. Neuman is a member of the Bars of the State of New York, several federal district courts and circuit courts of appeal, as well as the United States Supreme Court.

He is a member of numerous professional bar organizations and is dedicated to public service. For many years, he served as a member of the Practitioner's Advisor Group to the United States Sentencing Commission. He is currently a member of the Central Screening Group for the Assigned Counsel Plan of the Appellate Division, First Department of New York State, which oversees attorneys who are appointed to represent indigent criminal defendants in New York County and Bronx County.

In addition, he is currently the Criminal Justice Act Representative for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
